The barn is know to be built shortly after 1300. It is the one surviving barn of c. 1300 and a great example of Gothic carpentry and monastic opulence.
The barn would have been used for storing a variety of produce and materials but essentially grain crops in sheaves which would also be thrashed on the open threshing floors.
The internal measurements of the barn are 43.94 m X 11.63m covering a floor area of 511 square meters.



I took a few shots with the Peleng 8mm fisheye lens but was not happy with them (Have now sold it) The best wide shots were from the Ricoh GRD 2 and its wide 21mm conversion lens. My Pentax K10D and Sigma 10-20mm would have been better if I had used a tripod, while the Ricoh managed well with the lens wide open at f2.4
